At Virginia Lawyers for Children, we believe that millionaires and celebrities aren’t the only ones who should get top-notch lawyers. We believe that every child is a VIP who deserves a lawyer who is trained specifically to represent children, in an office that is up to date on the latest research about child welfare.
That’s why we offer support to help lawyers for children do their best work on every case. We do this by offering continuing legal education classes on topics specific to child welfare, as well as a secure online forum where lawyers for children can get advice, mentorship, support, and resources to do their best work for the children they serve. Our in-person and Zoom social events encourage GALs to connect with each other, learn from each other, and support each other in this difficult work. We also offer scholarships for attorneys who would like to get certified as Child Welfare Specialists with the National Association of Counsel for Children.

If you are certified as a Guardian ad Litem for children in Virginia, join us. Membership is free and offers a great way to network with your fellow GALs across Virginia and learn how to level up your skills as a child advocate.
