Do you believe that children are our most important clients? If so, you are in the right place.
Here at Virginia Lawyers for Children, we are here to support you. We recognize that the initial training we get at GALs doesn’t fully prepare us to represent children at a high level of excellence. We recognize that this highly emotional work causes many people to burn out. We get it. We offer several resources to help you succeed in your practice.
The Forum
The VLC Forum is a secure place where registered members can come to discuss cases, get advice, seek mentorship, share documents, talk over current events, and much more. Think of the other members of this forum as associates in your firm. If you are encountering an issue you’re not sure how to deal with, chances are another GAL has seen it before and can offer advice. If you’re feeling discouraged after an adverse outcome, there are hundreds of GALs throughout Virginia who can relate. Ask for a mentor. Become a mentor. Join a community of advocates who are passionate about child welfare law.
